Build Season: Week No. 3

DIAMOND BAR -- Week Three of Build Season has been an exciting week for Team Sprocket! From CADDing the robot to wrapping up our Business Plan, this week has been eventful as we approach the halfway mark.

Our team will be having a fundraiser next week, Friday, February 1st, at Panera Bread (21627 Valley Blvd, Walnut, CA 91789) from 4-8PM! Please come support our program by showing this flyer!

This week, Engineering has been especially busy with robot design. CADD has finished the overall robot design, complete with a billing plan for Public Relations. They've CADDed the E-Board, mounted gussets, and are in the process of finishing habitat mounts. While CADD has been the busiest subteam so far, Mechanical has also made progress in constructing game pieces and prototyping the cargo intake system. Moreover, Electrical planned the E-Board layout and are currently finalizing the pneumatic details. Programming has worked on an innovative program to allow the driver to give up control and allow an autonomous program to take over for a short while, although this is still being heavily tested.

Business has also made progress in preparing for our competitions and securing sponsors. Public Relations has sent out many emails for the belly-pan and our waterjet sponsor. They're also wrapping up our Chairman's Essays and script for Publicity, as well as the Business Plan. Operations has taken the lead in designing workshops for our STEAMposium outreach event soon, and working with parent mentors to budget finances and secure better deals. Lastly, Publicity has been working away on our second team newsletter and preparing for the Chairman's Video.

Entering Week 4, our team is on track to meet our projected schedule! With frequent meetings, the team, especially CADD. is feeling the pressure to continue the good progress we've been making.
