Tipping the Scales at San Diego and Orange County

The past month was one full of ups and downs for Team Sprocket, but our regional run definitely ended with a bang! After finishing 15th in qualifications at San Diego and failing to make playoffs, we went to the Orange County Regional rejuvenated and ready for redemption. Last season, the OC Regional proved to be our golden ticket to Houston, as we managed to reach the finals and get wildcarded.

Despite facing tough opposition and mechanical issues with the robot, we secured a place on the third-seeded alliance and battled our way through the playoffs. Miraculously, we were able to upset the first-seeded alliance 2-0 in the finals without putting a single cube on the scale. We are incredibly grateful to our alliance partners, team 5805 SMbly Required and team 812 The Midnight Mechanics, for helping us achieve our first regional win since our founding year!

For the second year in a row, we’re proud to announce that Team Sprocket will be going to the World Championships in Houston on April 18th! This season has been an exciting one for us, and we definitely owe our victory to the efforts of everyone involved. Shoutout to our parents, sponsors, and mentors for supporting us throughout the season <3.

We’ll work hard during the next few weeks to put up a good showing at Houston!
